Happy National Apple Pie Day! 🍏🥧 As they say, an apple (pie) a day, keeps the doctor away. 😉 This beautifully dainty pie was delivered to my door courtesy of @dutoit_agri, along with some freshly picked Golden Delicious apples. I had the privilege of visiting one of their apple farms a year ago, meeting the farmers, and experiencing some of the Du Toit family's magical hospitality. Apples are such humble fruit, but so versatile and delicious - fit for any occasion, and loved by young and old. New recipe: *Paprika Mushroom Soup* - The main reason that I love this recipe is because of the fabulous texture of the soup. To me, a mushroom soup should be lusciously creamy with a generous amount of chunky mushrooms, not a grey “porridgey” puree. I've added a generous amount of paprika for a welcoming extra earthy flavour - Hungarian-style. This soup is very versatile and will pair with many wines, red and white. Try @stellenbosch_hills's Chenin Blanc or Merlot. (recipe link in bio) 🍄🍷🥂
